Zimbabwe has had a well-publicised recent history, with the vast majority of media attention being negative. This has had a knock-on effect on tourism meaning that we get few enquiries for this once extremely popular destination. However, over the last couple of years, Zimbabwe has very much been rebuilding and whilst the politics are unlikely to go away in the very near future, much of the country is very much "open for business" and enjoying somewhat of a resurgence.

We understand there are reports in the newspapers and warnings put out by Governments which depict a grim political situation within Zimbabwe. We realise too, that this may concern you, and possibly impact on your decision to travel here. Whilst we don't deny that Zimbabwe has experienced some rough times, the people are amongst the warmest, friendliest and most gracious and hospitable that you are likely to meet.

The Victoria Falls are just as magnificent viewed from the Zimbabwe side and there is still first class accommodation offering the highest levels of service, often at a much more competitive price than neighbouring countries. Hwange, Matusadona, Chizarira, and Mana Pools National Parks are still teeming with game – but best of all, are not teeming with people. In fact, a safari in Zimbabwe is quite an exclusive experience at the moment and the lodges have responded with lots of excellent special offers and special rates – so it's never been better value for money.

Tourism was one of the biggest sources of foreign income in Zimbabwe and the dramatic reduction in visitor numbers has had a damaging effect on the economy. But it isn't the politicians who suffer; it's those same wonderful, friendly and hospitable people who work in the camps, lodges and hotels, and who are simply desperate to extend that warm hand of friendship to international tourists.
